We Couldn't Do What We Do Without Our Volunteers

At Ken Hill Health Center, our volunteers are the heartbeat of everything we do. From the doctors and nurses who provide compassionate care, to the community members who greet patients, organize supplies, or lend a helping hand, each person plays a vital role in keeping Hood County healthy.

Every smile, every moment of kindness, and every hour of service helps ensure that uninsured neighbors receive the quality healthcare they deserve. Whether you volunteer once a week or once a year, your time and talents make a lasting difference.

Join us in building a healthier, stronger community—one act of service at a time.

Immediate Needs

Do you believe that everyone, despite their socioeconomic status, deserves access to quality medical care?

Ken Hill Health Center had an average of 175 patient encounters per month in 2024. That number is growing every month, along with the complexity of cases, and unfortunately, the service we offer cannot keep up.

Community partners are necessary to eliminate the gaps in access to health care in specialty, ancillary, hospital, supportive, and social services for uninsured Hood County residents.

Providers volunteering their time are protected by Texas Law (Civ. Practice & Remedies Code Section 84.003).

How can you help?

Can you see patients?

Can you provide services for one or more patients per week? Even one patient per month or one per year! Any assistance you can provide means potential answers in a Hood County resident's healthcare journey.

Discounted Rates?

If you are unable to volunteer or provide free services for our patients, can you provide discounted rates for services provided?

Testimonial

Granbury Eye Clinic's Dr. Nicole Mueller and Dr. Nancy Cox have devoted one Friday morning per month for our patients for more than a decade.

"Vision is a fundamental part of life," Dr. Mueller shares. "It breaks my heart to see people struggling because they can't afford an eye exam. Everyone deserves the ability to see the world clearly."

By volunteering their time and expertise, not only do they restore vision, but they also  bring hope and dignity to those who might otherwise be forgotten.

Other Ways to Serve

While provider roles are critical, we are also always looking for additional volunteers in the following areas:

Spanish Translators

Help bridge the gap between providers and patients by offering clear, compassionate translation.

Clinical Support

RN, CMA, CNA, EMT, or medical scribes who want to make a difference in a hands-on way.

Clerical Help

Assist with front desk reception, scheduling, data entry, and other vital admin tasks.
